  • US assignment for CGC star Eva

The impressive achievements of our rising star Eva Myers have reached another key milestone – with the award of a scholarship at a leading American golf college.

Eva, 17, will head to the University of North Carolina Asheville in August 2027 on a five-year programme. The placement will see Eva study sport management as her major, combined with specialist training in sports marketing, event logistics and facility management.

She’ll represent the UNC’s golf team ‘known as the Bulldogs’ - with fixtures to be played as far afield as Colorado, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

The placement is fully funded – showing UNC’s recognition of Eva’s spectacular success across the last few years. She currently plays off a handicap index of -1.5 and is a member of England Golf’s East Midlands Regional Squad.

Her successes include: becoming England Schools Golf Champion in 2024, winning the British Junior Championship 2026, three-times being crowned Derbyshire Under 18s champion, two-times winning the Derbyshire Ladies Amateur Championship, and picking up further world ranking points by winning a coveted Bronte Law series event earlier this year.

Eva, who is currently studying A Levels at Tupton Hall School, has played golf since the age of seven, becoming a member of our junior section just two years later. The commitment from Eva and her family is staggering, with many hours spent practicing and travelling. They are a valued part of Chesterfield Golf Club with our members enjoying following Eva’s journey, and their loyalty to the club is appreciated.

Well done, Eva. Your fellow members are extremely proud of you.
