Prizes spread in Senior Mixed Open AMAM
A packed field contested our popular Senior Mixed Open AMAM – with winners coming from far and wide.
Prize winners were:

2nd place – 86 pts – Mark Lobar, Mark Rendell, Helen Lobar and Leigh Rendell – Chesterfield GC and Abbeydale GC

Nearest the pin on hole six was won by Anita Chamberlain of Burton-on-Trent GC who hit her ball to within 66cm.
Richard Pettit collects the nearest the pin prize for hole 15 after his ball came to rest 91cm from the hole.

Superb scoring in Ladies Open AMAM
The scoring was as hot as the scorching temperatures during our packed Ladies Open AMAM.

Ross appointed new Deputy Course Manager
Ross Kerr has been appointed as our club’s new Deputy Course Manager.
Ross joins us from Horsley Lodge Golf Club where he currently operates as Head Greenkeeper. Previously, he was employed as Deputy Course Manager at Matlock Golf Club. At both venues he has been heavily involved in the successful delivery of course development projects.
Ross has an excellent reputation amongst local greenkeepers and we look forward to welcoming him to join what is already a very strong team.
Major assignment for rules man Sam
Our very own Sam Barker-Sabido is playing a key role during this week’s AIG Women’s Open.
CGC member Sam, who works as Rules of Golf Manager at England Golf, has been invited by the R&A to officiate at the event, which started at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club yesterday and runs until Sunday.
Sam will be working as a member of a team of referees from across the globe.
During the first two days he’s covering a segment of the course. Then on each of Saturday and Sunday he’ll be assigned a match to referee as the world’s top players battle for the coveted title after making the cut.
What an incredible achievement for Sam and a great honour for our club to have him as a member. Great work Sam, a proud moment for yourself and your family, who are such a valued part of our club.
