Jon is a Class A PGA Professional with over 20 years’ experience at high quality private member and resort golf clubs.
Jon started his professional journey at his home club Abbeydale GC, Sheffield, where he worked under the guidance of PGA Professional Nigel Perry. During his time there Jon became Head Teaching Professional and Head of Retail.
After spending ten years at Abbeydale, John moved north to open the five-star Red Star Golf Resort at Rockliffe Hall in County Durham, taking up roles as Head Professional and Director of Golf. In 2013 Rockliffe hosted the European Seniors Tour, followed by the English Senior Open in 2014.
Jon has gained huge experience and is well respected having taught tour players and the Yorkshire Girls team on several occasions. He was elected Captain for the PGA North Region in 2018.
Jon enjoys competing in local Pro-Ams. On taking up the Head Professional at Chesterfield GC in early 2022 and is proud to help improve and develop our prestigious members’ club.
Ben Wyatt Assistant Head PGA Professional
Ben joined our professional team in early 2022 having graduated as a fully qualified Class A PGA Professional.
An accomplished player, Ben established himself in the Essex Under 25s team – playing for three seasons, before representing Essex at full county level for two years.
When turning professional Ben had a handicap of +2. He completed his three-year PGA Degree whilst working as Shop Manager at proprietary-owned The Rayleigh Club in Essex.
Whilst working at Rayleigh, Ben established a fine reputation for the junior and ladies’ clinics where he taught varying standards of players from beginners to fellow PGA professionals.
Ben moved north in 2022 to join the Chesterfield GC team and immediately gained great reviews for the standard of his coaching and the welcome he gives to members and visitors.
