Passport and Off-peak Membership

Passport Membership

The Board has written to all Senior Passport Members to remind them of the need to sign in with the Pro Shop every time they go out to play.
Senior passport category, which is for the over 75s, entitles players to the equivalent of 30 rounds, or 540 holes. These can be played in batches of 6, 9, or 18 holes.
If a member uses all his 540 holes a further 180 holes (10 rounds) may be bought. This can be done twice.
Passport Members will be issued with a white bag tag; this differs from the blue tag for full membership, and red tag of off peak members. Hopefully this will help to ensure that everyone is aware of the type of membership members have.
Passport Membership was originally introduced to help retain our long standing members who were finding it difficult to play more than a few holes  at a time but wanted to still be a part of the playing membership playing social golf with their friends.
Unfortunately, it appears there may previously have been misunderstanding about entitlement and checking in arrangements.
Hopefully this is now clear and passport membership will be used for the purpose originally intended.

Off Peak Membership

The Membership, Marketing and Communications Committee also felt it would be helpful to outline the terms and conditions for Off Peak membership.
Off peak membership was introduced to encourage people to try golf and hopefully join our Club as a full playing member.
The membership lasts for up to 2 years 3 months. Off peak members pay a joining fee of £200 plus half the annual subscription. At the end of this period they either join as a full playing member or resign from the club.
Off peak members can play from 12.30pm in summer and 11.30am in the winter, seven days a week. Off peak members can play in all club competitions, apart from ‘board competitions’.
This category of membership has proved to be very successful in recruiting new members, with over 50% converting to full membership.
