Non Qualifying Away Scores 2018

The Open competitions season is now well underway and the Competitions Committee would like to remind all members playing in such events of their obligation to report non-qualifying away competitions scores to Chesterfield Golf Club.

By way of a reminder, at the foot of this email are the contents of a communication that was sent out to all playing members last year regarding England Golf’s rule change for the recording of non-qualifying scores.

The Committee would like to thank those members who have already submitted away scores this season and encourage those who have overlooked this requirement so far to bring their record keeping up to date.

The two preferred ways to record a score are:

1.Fill in the away scores record slips that can be found in a holder attached to the noticeboard. A copy of this document can be downloaded here for you to print out if this is more convenient. Once completed the slips should be handed into the office or posted through the office letterbox.

2.Click this link  , fill in the on-line form and finally click SUBMIT; this action will update our away records database automatically.

Please reply to this email if you have any queries.

With regards

The Competitions & Handicaps Committee

ENGLAND GOLF GUIDANCE ON RECORDING NON-QUALIFYING SCORES

From 1st January 2017 England Golf require that players return all scores in non-qualifying competitions away from a player’s home club and have issued new guidance.

In summary:

Individual scores or Team results are to be notified to Chesterfield Golf Club for

Singles, Am-Am and 4BBB competitions played away from home and that are non-qualifying for handicap purposes, with the exception of Texas Scrambles, Foursomes and Greensome competitions, or casual social rounds.

The information to be returned is:

o Date of competition

o Format of competition (including handicap allowance)

o Venue/course

o Tees used

o SSS of the course

o Names of playing partners (if a team event)

o Score Returned

As well as promoting integrity and players’ confidence in the handicapping system, it is intended these measures will give the Competition Committee better guidance and information when it comes to the annual handicap review.

England Golf are resolute that players comply with their new obligations, failure to do so could result in suspension or loss of handicap under clause 24.1 of the CONGU UHS.

Please note these scores will NOT directly affect a players handicap, but will be used as 'supporting evidence' of performance when it comes to a handicap review.
