Red Poppy Appeal for Chesterfield Golf Club

As many of you will know, Chesterfield Borough Council had appealed for knitted and crocheted red poppies in order to make a cascade of poppies down the Town Hall as a memorial for 100 years since the Great War. As they now have sufficient poppies Kay Shaw and Gilly Morris came up with the great idea of having our own Poppy Cascade at the golf club in honor of the 9 members who lost their lives during WW1.

With many thanks to all the ladies who knitted/crocheted the poppies, Steve Gunn for paying for the wool and especial-ly big thanks to Kay Shaw and Gilly Morris for all their hard work in producing and assembling the display.
