The Broom Memorial Trophy was held in glorious conditions on Sunday 24 July. A quality field took part with Joan and Paul Bywater winning deservedly with a fine score of 66.5. The best gross was won by Rosemary and Nick Whitehouse from Hollinwell/ Kedleston with a scratch score of 80. With the date now settled back to July we look forward to increased participants in 2017. A number of visiting golfers have already pledged their support. The day started with bacon butties and coffee before going out to play in teams of three to play a Texas Scramble with each player having to take at least four of their tee shots. This proved a very popular format for the day and everyone seemed to really enjoy their golf. After the golf we were greeted with a glass of Pimms, courtesy of the Lady Captain and much appreciated by all. After a quick wash and brush up we then went into the dining room to enjoy our well earned meal! On Monday 25th April the Bronze team played Chatsworth at home. Winning the match 4 to 1, and this despite having to give shots to all of their players - in one case 9!!
