A wonderful evening's entertainment was provided by the "Casino Team", very professionally run and set up. Not forgetting our excellent classical guitarist, Bart Pickford, who played for us most of the evening.
The team of waitresses and bar staff served refreshments - all were welcomed with champagne - and delicious canapes were served during the early part of the evening.
Thanks to Dave in the kitchens and Myles, who stepped in to cover Neil's family calls elsewhere, we enjoyed an excellent mid-evening buffet.
From Liz Day:
Well we were promised something different by our Captain and boy-oh-boy was it different! The Clubhouse was dressed to look like Vegas as soon as you walked in the door everything took in the atmosphere of being there, it really was remarkable how it was all achieved.Champagne and canopies were served on arrival and a cold buffet throughout the evening which meant that it was easy foreveryone to mix and socialise. The guitarist played background music throughout the evening which was appreciated as it was not too loud and everyone could talk and hear each other! There were three areas for people to go and win/lose their money, two Blackjack tables and a Roulette wheel. There are several photos of the action. The Lady Captain won the prize for winning the most money. To summarise the evening, it was fun and just what the Captains had hoped it would be.
