Welcome to the Lady Members' section of The Chesterfield Golf Club

We are a very friendly bunch and we welcome new members. Also we have very thriving Bronze and Silver teams who play in the Derbyshire league matches, last year winning our division in the Silver and being joint runners-up in the Bronze. We encourage as many players to play in these matches as possible.

Many of our ladies play in the Sheffield league friendly matches as well as the Derbyshire league friendlies.

In the Clubhouse, the ladies washroom area has been given an extensive overhaul with new showers, under floor heating, vanity units and tiles. The changes have been a great improvement and are much appreciated by all the ladies.  Funding for the project came largely from money raised within the ladies section.

Relaxed and Friendly

In addition to the more formal competitions, we also have many fun competitions such as 3 clubs and a putter, Texas scrambles, stableford and Am-Ams. On other days many players meet up, put their balls in a hat, to draw for partners with no-one being excluded, then play nine or eighteen holes. The higher handicap players have the chance to play in friendly matches against other clubs.It is a wonderful way to meet new people and make new friends.

Clothing Sale - £750

Jan, the Lady Captain, organised a clothing sale with all proceeds going to Ashgate Hospice. Many members very kindly donated items of unwanted clothing and many more members and friends purchased them. In addition, Jan and her fellow helpers from the Club manned a stall on Chesterfield Bank Holiday Monday market to sell some of the remaining items. In total, it is expected that approaching £750 will be raised - a maginificent achievement. Thanks to everyone who helped, donated and purchased.

Peugeot LGU Coronation Cup

Do you remember the Area Final of the Peugeot LGU Coronation Cup which was held at our Club in late July? The winners were Cath Arter and Alison Mason from Rothley Park Golf Club who eclipsed the rest of the field on the day. The final of the event was held on 19th September and they were at it again. Winners of the Peugeot LGU Coronation Cup Final, held at the Eden Course, St Andrews were the same Cath Arter and Alison Mason with 36 stableford points. It's nice to have the connection and to bask in the reflected glory. Our congratulations also go to them both for their national success.
