Welcome to Chesterfield Golf Club

The Chesterfield Golf Club (also known locally as Walton golf club), is a beautiful, well established and wonderfully maintained parkland course set amidst stunning views in North East Derbyshire. You can be assured of a wonderful welcome in our very attractive clubhouse bar, lounge and restaurant which have spectacular views down the 10th and 18th fairways towards the Peak District.

Come and enjoy the quality of our catering services which is second to none. Visitors can find out more information about our course and view photo sequences of most of our holes. You may also view current green fees and special offers for visiting parties. Look out for our next Open Day - do come along for an informal chat.

Our improvement programme has contributed to our course becoming what we believe is the one of the most attractive and highest quality courses in the North Midlands, also easily accessible from Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

Derbyshire Amateur Championship

Congratulations to all our players in the Derbyshire Amateur Championship played at our Club on the 14th June. Darren Coop played really well with scores of 71 & 73 and was only beaten into second place by James Booth of Shirland with 70 & 73. Other notable scores from our members were a 70 from Liam Sinnott and a 71 from Jamie Booth. These scores helped Chesterfield to win the Team Challenge Shield and our team will now represent Derbyshire in the England Golf Champion Club Tournament in September at Brancepeth Castle. We wish them the best of form and a little luck to help bring back the Champion Club title.

Course Manager Report

Read Nick's full report of 1st August here.

"As you will be aware we have a Maintenance Week planned for the first week of August, next week. Due to the excellent surfaces we have at the minute I am proposing a less aggressive programme of work for this week. We shall be solid tining, double verti-cutting, overseeding, fertilizing and top-dressing. I also plan to tine the aprons and as many tees as possible. The Par 3 and short Par 4 tees will be top-dressed as well."
Nick Miles, Course Manager

Trees alongside the entry road have been provided through the continued generosity of Martin and Marie Bonynge and James Bailey. All of the trees are flowering varieties and will add some colour to the drive into the Club. Many thanks to Martin, Marie and James.

Derbyshire Alliance

Congratulations to Shane Naisbett, our Assistant Professional, won the latest round of the Derbyshire Alliance held on Wednesday 15th July at Renishaw Park. He shot a gross 69, 2 under par.

The prestigious Derbyshire Alliance Golf Day took place at Chesterfield on Wednesday 20th May.
To the delight of all including the Green Staff, the weather ended up being kind,  enabling the course to be presented to the best possible standard.
Those taking part, particularly visiting Professionals, were extremely complementary about the condition of the course and the hospitality received. See results here.
